The American Heritage New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy defines abstract art as  "...a trend in painting and sculpture in the twentieth century. Abstract art seeks to break away from traditional representation of physical objects. It explores the relationships of forms and colors, whereas more traditional art represents the world in recognizable images."

In upcoming exhibit ABSTRACT: now & then, opening November 11th, Galerie 103 brings together current and early works by Tom Lieber, David Kuraoka, Ben Kikuyama and Bruna Stude. The four artists explore colors, shapes, forms and gestural marks in abstract painting, sculpture, assemblage, and photography.

The exhibit will open on November 11th at 6 pm in conjunction with Kukuiula Art Walk and will remain on view through the end of January.
